At the Movies ©

Opening this Week
The Bourne Supremacy
Who knew the first one was successful enough to garner a sequel?
UPDATE: The Bourne Supremacy was the #1 vhs and dvd rental
title of 2003. (thanks to MDG for the tip). I guess that warrants a sequel.

They picked a good weekend to put out a mediocre movie. There isn’t much competition, and all the comic book freaks already saw Spiderman 2. Everyone is still expecting it to bomb though.

The Grudge (limited release)
This is another Japanese horror movie that is currently being remade so Americans don’t have to read subtitles. They’re re-releasing it here just to generate buzz.

A Home at the End of the World (LA and NY)
This movie took out Colin Farrell’s nude shot because it was “too distracting,” which might make sense since Ewan McGregor showed his package in a movie this past year and I can’t even remember its name and still insist on referring to it as “The Movie That Ewan Showed His Package In.”

Festival Express (limited release)
Documentary following Janis Joplin, The Band, the Grateful Dead, and other noted musicians while traveling 2,000 miles throughout Canada over five days in the summer of 1970

Top of the Box
I, Robot
I, don’t care.
