At the Movies ©

Opening this Week
The Village
It must be tough to continue to surprise your audience once you become known for directing movies with plot twists.

Garden State (NY/LA)
I’m really hoping this lives up to the hype. I would hate to have to dislike a film with such a great name.

The Manchurian Candidate
People are talking Oscar…

What the heck is Ben Kingsley doing in this crappy movie?

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
They are really pushing the fact that Ebert and Roper gave this movie 2 thumbs up… as if they know by the title people would assume it will be as bad as the feeling you get after eating at White Castle.

She Hates Me (NY/LA)
It’s a Spike Lee Joint

Intimate Strangers (LA/NY)
It’s a case of mistaken identity where a woman enters the wrong office and ends up talking about her marital problems with a financial adviser who she thinks is a physiologist.

Top of the Box

I’m so uninspired by all these movies, I can’t even think of anything snarky to say.

The Bourne Supremacy

I, Robot

Spiderman 2

A Cinderella Story
